Treatment of Food Wastewater
1. Characteristics:
The concentrations of suspended solids and organic substances are high. It contains a large amount of grease and is generally non-toxic. The main pollution hazard of food industrial wastewater is that it deteriorates the water body environment, which may lead to the death of fish and other aquatic animals. It also promotes the decomposition of organic substances accumulated at the bottom of the water under anaerobic conditions, generating bad odors, worsening the water body and polluting the environment.
2. Treatment Difficulties:
The concentrations of animal and vegetable oils and suspended solids are high. The water quality is unbalanced and the COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) concentration is high.
3. Treatment Process:
Physicochemical treatment + biochemical treatment
4. Solutions:
After applying air flotation for pretreatment to remove animal and vegetable oils in the wastewater, the combined anaerobic + aerobic treatment process is then applied to further remove pollutants in the wastewater.
5. Discharge Standards:
The first-class discharge standard for the second period specified in the Integrated Wastewater Discharge Standard (GB8978-1996).
The first-class discharge standard for the second period specified in the Discharge Limits of Water Pollutants in Guangdong Province (DB44/26-2001).
